The Plasterers Forum enjoys raising money for charity but simply donating money is not what we are all about. In 2012 myself and my now wife cycled from John O’groats to Lands End covering 1344 miles and we had support from plasterers up and down the UK who put us up for the night and gave us support on our travels.
Well this year myself and 6 other Plasterers Forum members will be attempting the 3 peaks challenge to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and it is going to be a gruelling challenge for everybody but then that is why we do it.
So what is the 3 Peaks Challenge?
The National 3 Peaks Challenge is a when know phrase in the more adventurous people and this challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland England and Wales within 24 hours.
This is not an easy challenge as to get it completed some of it has to be completed in the hours of darkness and also done in poor weather.
Ben Nevis is 1344 meters
Scafell Pike is 978 meters
Snowdon is 1085 meters
I have already started training for this challenge and I am quite excited by what we are going to experience and see when we are walking but also getting us through the challenge will be why we are doing it and that is to raise money for Male-A-Wish foundation and to help children and young adults realise their dreams while battling a life threatening condition.
I would like to thank everybody in advance for their support for not only myself but all the members and other friends who will be joining us on the challenge.
I have a goal I would like to reach with the amount of money raised and I wont announce my goal until we have confirmation of the event.
There is lots of planning involved and getting everybody in the right place at the right times so please bear with us.
We will also let you know how you can donate and support us on our 3 Peaks Challenge.
Thanks again for your continued support of both this event and also The Plasterers Forum® and Plasterers News
