Safeguard Product Expertise In One Handy Volume

Safeguard has published the third edition of its product guide, encompassing 30 years of innovation within its 48 pages. Covering the Dryzone, Stormdry, Vandex, Oldroyd, Soluguard and Brickfix brands, the guide leads the reader through the different products and systems, and provides useful background information.

Safeguard Product Guide

Alongside Safeguard’s established and popular products such as Dryzone Damp-proofing Cream, the guide showcases some new ideas. Among these is the Dryzone Express Replastering System which allows rising damp to be treated, and the walls re-decorated in under 24 hours – and at a lower cost than the traditional multi-layer sand cement render solution.

The guide explains why its Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream, which protects masonry or concrete from rain penetration, is also good news for householders who want to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce their energy bills. With energy efficient retrofits on the increase, it’s useful to know that wet walls cause buildings to lose heat at a greater rate.

“We are passionate about the building industry and helping installers to do the best job that they possibly can – and that means using products and materials that have been tested thoroughly and proven to work,” says Hudson. “We are proud to say that all the products you see in our guide meet our very high standards.”

And if you’re looking to waterproof a basement – new-build or existing – this guide is a good place to start. From a range of waterproofing slurries and products such as Vandex Super which penetrates concrete to make it impermeable; to Oldroyd cavity drainage membranes which can help make even the wettest rooms dry; to the Sentry Sump System for pumping collected water out.

There are many other handy products in there too, including Soluguard treatments for woodworm, dry rot and mould and the Brickfix Crack Repair System, a cost-effective way to stabilise cracked masonry walls. There’s also a collection of useful little instruments such as the Protimeter Mini Moisture Meter and the Stormdry Gauge, which measures the rain penetration potential of masonry.

The guide is supported by 200-plus technical documents which can be viewed and downloaded on Safeguard’s website www.safeguardeurope.com. And if you need some in-depth know-how, check out the final pages of the guide to learn about the RIBA-approved CPD sessions and practical installation courses that Safeguard offers.
