British Gypsum Launches BBA Approved Green Deal Package

Plaster and drylining manufacturer, British Gypsum, has achieved independent Green Deal compliance certification from the British Board of Agrément (BBA) and has now launched its new Green Deal solutions and training package.

BBA Approved

The BBA approved systems include DriLyner RF, DriLyner TL, GypLyner Universal and GypLyner IWL. These specific solutions are designed to make it simpler for the trade to choose suitable internal wall insulation (IWI) systems for Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) projects and then install them effectively as part of energy saving measures under the scheme.

To complement this, British Gypsum has also created a new range of training courses, to assist apprentices and professionals to boost their knowledge of the scheme by being trained on certified products. David Hall, Technical Academy Manager, British Gypsum, explains: “Installers need to have the right tools, knowledge and expertise to ensure the effectiveness of the energy efficiency improvements they are carrying out. That’s why, as well as making it easier for tradespeople to identify which of our products and systems are suitable for Green Deal and ECO works, we’ve developed our training offering too.”

British Gypsum now offers one day system specific courses as well as a comprehensive five-day Specialist Upskilling Programme that covers the installation of all its approved IWI systems. In an industry first, British Gypsum will also support those completing the five day course in gaining a formal NVQ Level 2 in Insulation and Building Treatments – Internal Wall Insulation, by arranging site visits from certified assessors.

“Our courses were developed in partnership with the CITB and Industry which not only means the content is independently verified but also enables in scope companies with the CITB, to apply for funding for company employees and labour only sub-contractors,” added Dave.

“Ultimately our new Green Deal package helps installers to easily identify our compliant systems and products, and with the training available, ensure they are able to offer the best service, quality of work and advice possible to homeowners.”

British Gypsum’s Green Deal training courses are available nationwide via the network of Saint-Gobain technical academies.
